With Surface Pro X, Microsoft is introducing Microsoft SQ2, the second generation of Qualcomm and Microsoft’s custom chip. This is built on the foundation of Microsoft SQ1 processor, which was unveiled last year.

With SQ2, Microsoft is promising all “new experiences for all Surface Pro X customers”, which includes significantly improved multitasking power and longer battery life.

Microsoft is also promising increased battery life that delivers up to 15 hours of typical usage. In addition, Microsoft has also announced public beta testing of x64 (64-bit) desktop apps emulation for Windows 10 on ARM to address the app gap problem.

You can purchase the upgraded Surface Pro X in a new Platinum-finish, in addition to Matte Black. Surface Pro X Keyboards are now available in three new colours – Ice Blue, Poppy Red, and Platinum, in addition to Black.
