Google Chrome Will Let You Search Through Your Open Tabs
Google Chrome will soon let you search through your open web pages to find that missing page lost among a sea of tabs.
If you are like me, your web browser can at times become filled with 50+ tabs, if not more. With that many tabs open, and their condensed state, it becomes challenging to find a particular tab.
To help with this mess, Google is testing a new ‘Tab Search’ feature in the Chrome Canary builds that allows you to search your open tabs for a particular keyword.
As reported by TechDows, when this new ‘Tab Search’ feature is enabled, a small down arrow will appear to the right of your tabs. Clicking on this arrow will open a search prompt that you can use to search for a particular tab, as shown below.

You can then look through the list of tabs that match the keyword and select the tab you want.
This feature is currently being tested in Chrome 89 and will not be available in the Stable versions until March 2021.
How to enable Chrome Tab Search
If you wish to test this feature now, you can download Google Chrome Canary and follow these steps to enable the Tab Search feature:
- Head to the Chrome://flags menu.
- Search for ‘Enable Tab Search,‘ and enable it as shown below.
- When the flag is enabled, relaunch the browser as prompted.
Once Google Chrome restarts, you will be able to search through your open tabs.
